  • Ex Machina with the Society of the 400th Anniversary
Summary:
  • Quebec City celebrated its 400th anniversary from June 20 to August 24, 2008. The Image Mill– a sound and image spectacular created by Robert Lepage and Ex Machina – was created to recount the history of Quebec with what is believed to be the world’s largest video projection.
  • The Image Mill project took E/T/C and Ex Machina two years to create and was part of Lepage’s four-part vision of Quebec’s history. Each part devoted to a century from the 17th century-themed Water Highway to today’s telecommunications-fueled Air Highway.  Lepage’s vision was to make the grain silos transparent and the immense structures move with the fluidity of the projected images.
  • Christie Roadster S+20K projectors played a key role in the festivities. This projector is purpose-built with features meant for the world of Rental/Staging. With 20,000 ANSI lumens, small form factor and 3-chip DLP® technology, the Roadster S+20K is used internationally for high-profile, live audience events. Its high bandwidth supports Picture in Picture, HD 4:4:4 and seamless switching between sources.
