In 1999, Christie acquired Electrohome Projection Systems, an international manufacturer of commercial projection systems.  Electrohome Projection Systems was a division of Electrohome, Inc. Canada’s largest consumer electronics manufacturer based in Ontario, Canada.  The marriage of capabilities led to the establishment of Christie’s digital projection operations. 

Today, Christie is the only  single source provider of high performance digital projectors and visual solutions in North America and one of only a handful in the world. The worldwide head office is located in Cypress, California with  engineering  and manufacturing headquartered in Kitchener, Ontario, Canada, with a second manufacturing facility located in Shenzhen, China.

Christie is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Ushio, Inc.of Japan. Ushio is a leading manufacturer of speciality and general illumination lighting solutions and is  publicly traded on the Nikkei-Dow (Tokyo) under the symbol JP:6925.
