Projection mapping is an exciting projection technique that uses specialized software and other technologies to warp and blend projected images so they fit perfectly on irregularly-shaped “screens” such as buildings, interior spaces and natural landscapes.
The result – almost any surface can be masked to become a dynamic video display of 2D and 3D images that can transform what is reality for the audience into illusions and images of infinite possibilities - ideal for advertising, branding, entertainment, public art, and trade show presentations.
What can projection mapping offer?
A “wow-factor” – when done right, the visual impact of projection mapping transcends ordinary video projection to deliver memorable experiences for any audience.
Cost-effective transformation of any space - display many different visuals easily on any surface or structure.
The projected image is mapped to fit the surface and space – you don’t need to make physical changes to the structure of your display. The image can mask and change the look of everything you are projecting onto.
Christie’s projection mapping solutions
Christie’s 3-chip DLP® projectors are used around the world for projection mapping. A wide choice of resolutions and brightness levels lets you project rich, evocative displays on almost any structure. Use Christie® technology to warp and edge-blend projected images onto irregular shapes or surfaces with Christie Twist™ or by using camera-based systems such as Christie AutoStack™.
3-chip DLP Projectors
By using light more efficiently, the Christie 3-chip DLP projector line up outshines the competition. You get brightness uniformity throughout the image and consistent, reliable brightness over the life of the projector.
Designed with end-user applications in mind, Christie Twist™ lets you expertly edge-blend multiple curved images seamlessly, on all four sides, for up to six projectors. Precisely control multiple edge-blended images, and warp displays to almost any projection surface – flat, curved or spherical.
This software-driven, camera-based system automatically aligns and blends with unsurpassed accuracy. Christie AutoStack is designed for flat screens and supports various screen sizes and aspect ratios, using screen points for quick geometric calibration, in as little as two minutes per projector. The system can be used on up to a 2x3 blended array of projectors that can be stacked for a total of 12 projectors.
