Christie MicroTiles make a splash in retail
When Shaw decided to enter the retail space in Canada, they knew it had to be exciting and offer consumers a compelling reason to walk through the door. As a cable TV, Internet, phone and Wi-Fi® service provider they wanted to engage and excite consumers by showcasing solutions to make their lives fun and easy. With their recent purchase of Global Media, Shaw wanted to represent all of their new offerings through a unique, digital, in-store experience that would encourage the customer to choose Shaw.
Having recently seen the installation of Christie® MicroTiles® at the Global Television studios in Toronto for “The Morning Show,” Shaw’s Vice President of Facilities, Design and Management, Julie Shaw, suggested the Christie MicroTiles for the retail store installations. The ad agencies within Shaw immediately saw the potential of how Christie MicroTiles could be used in many unique ways to achieve the results they were looking for in their retail locations.
Along with design expertise from two outside firms — Breakhouse in Halifax, and Trapeze in Toronto — the Shaw retail team worked with Applied Electronics and rp Visual Solutions to create and install a hanging Christie MicroTiles waterfall display in two of their Calgary locations. The unique waterfall displays are now up and operating in four Shaw retail locations in Alberta and British Columbia, with more installations planned in the future.
