We are currently seeking a highly motivated Customer Service Technician.

The candidate must reside within a 40 mile radius of Los Angeles, CA.


The Customer Service Technician position will be responsible for installation, repair, maintenance and support of CDS products, digital projection systems, 35mm film as well as related OSA and Interactive media systems equipment. You will process all administrative paper work associated with your work, be responsible for technical support of specialized internal applications, and inventory management.


  • Provide timely and effective technical support to meet the customers’ expectations via telephone or in person
  • Coordinate equipment repairs and maintenance, accurately allowing sufficient time for transit and testing
  • Repair, and update products and software
  • Repair or update any and all projectors still under factory warranty or under service contracts
  • Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. Maintains extensive experience and judgment to assist the Field Service Team on all technical issues
  • Perform emergency service at the client’s locations as needed to ensure the full functionality of OSA system, Interactive media systems related equipment and Digital Cinema projectors and systems
  • Provide technical training for the end user relating to the operation of OSA system and related digital equipment
  • Ability to diagnose and repair Digital Projectors and Digital systems
  • Troubleshoot and resolve Network issues i.e. connectivity, applications, Internet, Web, WAN, e-mail and infrastructure related to CDS brand and related equipment
  • Perform maintenance/repair/alignment on house automation system
  • Support live events/screening for Digital Cinema
  • Provide detailed technical documentation relating to all functions performed
  • Perform preventative scheduled maintenance to ensure optimum operation and a minimum of down time of OSA, Interactive media systems system and Digital Cinema projectors and systems
  • Process and maintain accuracy of inventory
  • Travel requirement could be up to 70%
  • Develop and maintain good customer relationships
  • Provide 24/7 technical support

Required Qualifications: 

  • Associate degree in a technical field (Electrical or Software) (or equivalent technical experience).
  • At least 3 years experience in an audio visual related field
  • Experience with LCD, D-ILA, and / or DLP technology.
  • 1-2 years experience to diagnose and repair Digital Projectors and Digital systems.
  • A strong working knowledge of PC hardware, setup and repair.
  • Knowledge of field service and equipment repair
  • Experience with audio/video test and calibration equipment and related electronic equipment
  • Experience in systems troubleshooting
  • Strong communication and negotiating skills in dealing with customers
  • Experience with multimedia equipment installation and service.
  • Excellent technical problem solving, troubleshooting, follow up skills.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs without assistance
  • Travel requirement could be up to 70%
  • Provide 24/7 technical support
  • Ability to safely operate and navigate a motorized lift up to 35 feet
  • Ability to safely climb ladders up to 15 feet
  • Excellent organizational skills and a results oriented approach
  • Excellent work ethic
