George Pinho is president of Christie Medical Holdings, Inc. (Christie Medical). Christie acquired the assets from Luminetx Corporation in 2009 and created Christie Medical, which is based in Memphis, Tennessee.
George was instrumental in the acquisition of Luminetx Corp., whose assets included the technology and intellectual property for the market-leading vascular imaging system – VeinViewer®. Under George’s direction, Christie Medical develops and markets innovative imaging technologies for visualization, diagnostics, and treatment applications for acute and non-acute care environments.
George began his career with Christie® in 2001 as senior product developer and has held progressive roles, including project leader, and both director – and later, senior director – of business products development. An expert in projection design and optical technologies, George led the development of multiple market-leading products at Christie, including the CP2000 and CP2210 digital cinema projectors, Roadster rental staging projectors, and M-series line of projectors, several of which achieved industry firsts in performance and function and helped cement Christie as a leader in high-brightness projectors. In 2010 George became president of Christie Medical where he has continued to drive innovation and new applications for imaging technologies in the medical market.
George holds a Ph.D., in Physics from the University of Waterloo and an MBA with specialization in strategy, marketing and finance from Wilfrid Laurier University. He has authored 14 research publications focusing on projection, optics and laser applications, and holds eight patents in projection design and medical device technologies.
