Founded in 1961, the McLean Bible Church is a nondenominational church committed to impacting secular Washington, D.C. with the message of Jesus Christ. Occupying 51 acres, the church campus includes parking for 2,500 cars. The main church, nearly 279,000 square feet, holds 2,400 people, with a stage dominated by a 32’ wide screen projection screen used with the Christie XP2000 and two 24’ wide screens on either side of the stage illuminated by a pair of Christie Roadie S12’s. There are also five 19’ screens at the midpoint of the auditorium with Christie RoadRunner LX100’s. The adjacent auditorium, "Smith Center," holds up to 1,200 people. It features a 20’ wide center screen and two 14’ wide side screens in the auditorium, each using Christie RoadRunner LX100’s and Christie RoadRunner L6 projectors.

"We were using some Christie projectors for six months and finally upgraded all our remaining systems to Christie. Christie offers a greater diversity of products to meet our precise needs in terms of power, brightness, reliability and versatility of use," said Dave Schatzman, technical director, McLean Bible Church. "The ChristieNET networking solution monitors and controls all our projectors, giving us total control, access and security. Another important factor in our decision to standardize on Christie was their exceptional service and support. Christie technicians are always very helpful, pleasant and knowledgeable."

In addition to offering some of the country’s most dazzling multimedia religious presentations, McLean Bible Church features educational and bible study groups, programs to feed the homeless, and help families with needs. The church also runs an international ministry sending volunteer teams to more than 20 countries every year. Located just outside Washington, D.C., the church attracts politicians, diplomats, CEOs and other high level visitors. It is rated among the fastest growing churches in the United States.

"One of our core values, ‘everything we do for Christ must be done with excellence,’ also applies to how we deliver the teachings of Jesus," observed Schatzman. "Christie provides the level of quality and performance we need to help us communicate with the greatest impact."

"Technology is an integral part of modern life," remarked Tony Barton, national sales manager for US fixed installations market, Christie. "Houses of worship like McLean Bible Church recognize the enormous benefit a state-of-the-art sound and video installation can provide in enhancing the pastor’s presentation.
