INFOCOMM INDIA/Mumbai – (September 17, 2013) – Christie® and its valued partner, AGC Networks Ltd (AGC), contributed to the Indian population in the northeastern region following the successful installation of eight Christie Entero 50-inch cubes in the boardroom of North Eastern Electric Power Corporation Limited (NEEPCO). The Christie Entero cubes serve as the nerve center of the company as they act as the monitor center to maintain vigilance over the secure operations of its power plants, with security cameras strategically installed at its seven fully operational power plants and five power plants under construction.
Set up on April 2, 1976, NEEPCO is a governmental enterprise under India’s Ministry of Power that covers 55 percent of the total electricity consumption of the northeastern region with an installed capacity of 1,130 megawatts.
Sanjit Sarkar, Deputy General Manager, IT, NEEPCO, said, “In the northeastern region where we operate in a highly difficult and geo-technically sensitive terrain, NEEPCO is proud to be part of the country’s renewable energy source by responsibly exploiting the vast hydro and thermal power potential for sustainable development.”
The monitor center is set up using eight Christie Entero™ RPMSP-LED01 engines with 50-inch cubes in a configuration of two units by four units. A Christie TVC-1110 video controller completes the video wall setup. With the support from Christie India, the AGC team took four weeks to install and configure the video display systems to make the boardroom functional. The result is good resolution for video display with a long life expected.
“The NEEPCO site is at the northeastern region of India where the application of video wall technology has only been very recent. We’re pleased that the customer receives Christie Entero cubes positively,” said Rajesh Patkar, deputy general manager, Christie India. “The dedicated team from AGC took stride in working on this project from the very beginning, from the stage of identifying the customer’s needs, then providing the right solutions and installing the video wall to the customer's satisfaction.”
When it comes to video wall projects, the technical team from Christie India is heavily involved. From the installation of the cubes, working on the important process of their mechanical alignment, color matching and configuring of the TVC controller, Christie India is always there. Patkar added, “For this, we’ve received appreciation letters from the customer for our remarkable efforts in handling this installation.”
“We’ve been working with Christie India for the past three years, and the support from Christie India was excellent,” noted Vinod Nair, vice president of AGC.
“NEEPCO forms a part of the power and utility segment. We’re glad to contribute to the healthy growth of this sector to benefit the Indian population in the northeastern region by working closely with NEEPCO,” concluded Lin Yu, vice president, Christie Asia Pacific.
