Seven Zones Highlight One-stop Cinema Solutions
Visitors to the booth will have the opportunity to experience Christie’s cornerstone digital cinema offerings, whose scope encompasses new formats and technologies, backed by turnkey service and support for all of an exhibitor’s operations. Seven zones will amply demonstrate Christie’s commitment to be a trusted, one-stop shop for all exhibitor needs.
Zone 1: For the Projection Needs of Community Theaters
A complete projection solution for screens up to 35 feet, Christie Solaria® One comes with a zoom lens, custom-designed Xenon lamp, and a Christie Integrated Media Block (IMB) with its own easy-to-operate Screen Management Software (SMS). The Solaria One is brightest in its class since it projects 8000 lumens in the DCI color space, 9000 for alternative content and in its Solaria One+ variation, projects 9000 lumens in the DCI color space and10,000 for alternative content. Shipping DCI compliant in November, this affordable solution confirms that now all cinemas can move to digital projection. It is 3D ready, HFR upgradeable and has washable/reusable filters. Exhibitors and visitors can experience the full playback potential at the live demo of Christie Solaria® One combined with the premium audio and visual playback capabilities of Christie SKA-3D.
Zone 2: A Premium Cinema Experience on Large Screens
Zone 2 features Christie Duo™. The Christie Duo generates twice the brightness for super large 2D or 3D screens, allowing cinema exhibitors to offer a differentiated, premium movie-going experience to their patrons. Christie Duo is a dual-projection system using patented mirror system configurations projecting simultaneous left-eye and right-eye images, which reduces 3D switching artifacts for better and more comfortable viewing of 3D presentations. The Christie Duo integration kit can be purchased with either a 2K or 4K Christie Solaria® Series digital cinema projector or as a stand-alone integration kit if the exhibitor already has Christie projectors. Included in the solution is Christie DuoAlign™, an auto-calibrating image alignment software and camera kit that aligns the images from both projectors within seconds to deliver a completely seamless movie experience. Low upfront costs and no ongoing revenue sharing requirements deliver a high performance and financially accessible premium large screen movie experience that exhibitors can brand.
Zone 3: Centrally Manage Projection Operations
As cinema multiplexes grow in screen count to accommodate their diverse audiences, managing multiple projection operations has become a challenge. To meet this challenge, Christie showcases the Christie Avias-TMS™, a Theater Management System (TMS) software application designed specifically for cinema operators to centrally manage and orchestrate all of their projection operations within a multiplex, regardless of the diverse projectors, servers or operating systems (OS) in use. The user-friendly software application is easy to install and can be accessed securely from any location through a standard Web browser, offering cinema exhibitors the ultimate freedom and flexibility to conduct theater operations from an office or home PC, laptop computer or tablet. Christie Avias-TMS™ also allows centralized scheduling of all content, devices and Key Delivery Messages (KDMs), including a drag and drop playlist to cater to rapid changes based on changing customer demands. An interactive TMS will be showcased at the booth.
Zone 4: Empowering Theater Operational Staff with Online Cinema Training
Zone 4 previews Christie Managed Services’ new online cinema training, which provides access to not only online training, but technical resources and courseware that will increase the productivity and core knowledge of a cinema’s operational staff. Christie’s up-to-date training modules help technicians stay current on system enhancements and advancements in operational and service techniques. The online cinema training website also teaches technical and projection personnel how to fix basic system issues, saving time, effort and money. Additionally, the Managed Services team will showcase their customized boothless projection system as part of a complete customized solution. This turnkey boothless solution provides a special lift system that enables projectors to be positioned out of the way during normal operation and lowered for maintenance, freeing up space for seating that would normally have been taken up by projection booths.
Zone 5: In-lobby Digital Signage
In Zone 5, experience what a theater lobby could be with eye-catching digital signage displayed on award-winning Christie MicroTiles® in an array of 5 units by 1 unit. Leveraging the strengths of both DLP® projection and Light Emitting Diode (LED) technology, Christie MicroTiles offer substantially brighter images and a much wider color palette than conventional flat panel LCD and plasma displays. The Christie MicroTiles produce a virtually seamless canvas with an unlimited number of super-fine pixels, making them ideal for a wide range of demanding applications, including architectural elements, out-of-home advertising, command and control video walls, and event production.
Zone 6: Christie Information Kiosk
The newly-launched Christie Superior Performance Xenolite lamp series is designed to maximize the brightness and reliability of today’s digital cinema projection solutions and uses the latest in Xenon lamp technology to provide increased brightness, improved stability and a longer life span for more captivating 2D and 3D experiences. Christie Superior Performance Xenolite lamps are not only brighter, they last 30 percent longer than existing Xenon lamps while still offering the same extraordinary 99.999 percent in-theater uptime. The show will go on brighter and with a lower total cost of ownership, increasing exhibitor’s overall profitability.
Also available at the kiosk is Christie Duo product information and an overview of HFR (High Frame Rate) technology.
