SHANGHAI, CHINA – (August 4, 2010) – Christie®, a global leader in visual solutions for business, entertainment and industry, is proud to announce that Christie DLP® projectors are presenting the main show at the Australian Pavilion for the Expo event in Shanghai. With over 190 countries participating and more than 70 million visitors expected, Christie is participating in over 20 pavilions and providing more than 450 projectors and Christie® MicroTiles™.
The visually striking national pavilion showcases Australian innovation and achievement with dynamic exhibits and a rich cultural program introducing visitors to the sights, sounds and tastes of Australia.
One configuration in the pavilion is a 160m (524 ft) long, glass-enclosed ramp snaking around and penetrating the building exterior. Leading visitors past six exhibitions - including one featuring four Christie DS+6K-M projectors - the story and the structure was designed, developed and installed by Melbourne-based think!OTS with technical design and procurement by Wizard Projects.
“Australia’s presence at the Shanghai World Expo is to show that we are a dynamic country, renowned for its robust, diverse economy and creative industries. The state-of-the-art video presentation in our ANZ theatre-in-the-round is a tangible demonstration of Australia’s creative and technological capabilities,” says Lyndall Sachs, Commissioner-General, Communications Manager, Australian Pavilion.
In keeping with the 'Better City, Better Life' theme of Expo, seven Christie Roadster S+20K projectors present Australia as a land of imagination and innovation with spectacular audiovisuals in a theater-in-the-round setting.
Featuring DLP technology, the Roadsters combine superior resolution with high brightness levels. “The Christie Roadster was our first choice. The crisp, clean images set the standard, and its perfect color saturation and clear detail are just unbeatable,” adds Pete Ford, Creative Director for think!OTS.
“The Roadster projectors are always a treat to work with. Their ruggedness is something we can rely on,” acknowledges Paul van der Ent, Executive Technical Director of the Australian Pavilion and Managing Director of Wizard Projects.
“The Roadster series is one of our most popular product families because of its spectacular brightness levels and rugged design. Customers love the power, performance, cooling efficiency and lower cost of ownership,” concludes Lin Yu, VP, Christie Asia Pacific.
