BIRTV/BEIJING – (Aug 24, 2011) – Christie®, a global leader in visual display solutions for entertainment, business, and industry, is exhibiting a wide range of innovative cinema projection and digital signage solutions at BIRTV 2011, China’s most prestigious exhibition for the radio, film and TV industry. The event takes place August 24-26 at the China International Exhibition Center.
For the first time in China, Christie will showcase an independent projection with a Christie Solaria™ CP4230 Digital Cinema® projector, the newest platform in the Solaria™ Series.
“The increasing demand for 4K content in cinema screens worldwide is an unstoppable phenomenon and Christie has received a very positive response from film industry veterans since unveiling its 4K capabilities last year. There is no better platform to showcase this same technology and reach out to our Chinese exhibitors and moviegoers than at BIRTV. We predict the Chinese audience at BIRTV will capture details in the 4K restoration that are unlike anything they have seen before,” noted Frank Xiao, general manager, Christie China.
The Christie CP2210, Christie 2220, and Christie 2230 digital cinema projectors from the award-winning Christie Solaria™ series will be in full view at the tradeshow, backed by a demonstration of the most advanced lamp technology.
Christie is also participating in the Digital Film Forum that runs concurrently with the BIRTV exhibition. Christie’s Senior ES Engineer Manager for Asia Pacific, Henry Noel, will be discussing ‘4K Enhanced DLP Technology for Theatrical Presentations.’
“With cost-effective and efficient conversion from film to digital cinema projection solutions a major concern, it is only natural that Chinese exhibitors will expect Christie, as one of the leading manufacturers in digital cinema projectors, to provide customized solutions to their digitalization needs. Christie has to understand the different requirements and challenges our exhibitors face and help them understand the technologies we bring to the table. This is one reason why our showcase at BIRTV this year is so important. Aside from demonstrating our latest innovations, we are also demonstrating our capabilities to meet the highest standards in the cinema industry now and in the future,” observed Lin Yu, vice president, Christie Asia Pacific.
The Christies display at BIRTV will also include Christie® MicroTiles™ in a Skyscraper configuration.
