Christie "On Top Of Their Game" With Christie Brilliant3D™ Triple Flash Technology

Las Vegas/SHOWEST— (March 31, 2009) – Christie maintains unprecedented dominance in the digital cinema landscape through constant innovation and product enhancements to its acclaimed DLP Cinema® series of projectors, continuously raising the standards of performance and drawing praises worldwide.  The latest, the industry’s first technological breakthrough for 3D, Christie Brilliant3D™, has sparked renewed excitement among exhibitors, who are racing to digitize their theatres ahead of a record number of 3D features that are coming down the Hollywood pipeline.

Christie Brilliant3D with triple flash technology significantly boosts projector performance and image brightness, delivering the industry’s best single-lens solution for 3D.  It utilizes the entire reflective surface of the DMD chip from Texas Instruments (TI), enabling 3D content to be projected in full 2K resolution. The technology is available on the Christie CP2000-SB, Christie CP2000-XB, Christie CP2000-ZX and the compact Christie CP2000-M; a versatile, digital cinema dynamo that is poised to revolutionize theatre booth design.

“For theatres, it’s all about the light,” said Gary Engvold, president of Integrity Entertainment Systems, LLC, an authorized digital cinema reseller for Christie.  In the past five months, Integrity has been rolling out the full resolution 2K triple flash Christie CP2000-ZX projectors.  It recently installed four systems at Bow Tie Cinemas, six at Zurich Theatres, and three at Dipson Theatres.

“Not all equipment is created equal,” added Engvold.  “Christie projectors offer superior optics that put much more light on the screen – a key requirement for 3D.  The full 2K resolution delivered by Christie Brilliant3D technology means theatres don't have to reduce the content size for the screen, so audiences see a brighter, clearer picture.  But it’s not just about what’s on the screen.  Christie also offers a solid support structure behind every one of their projectors.”

Christie Brilliant3D Dazzles South of the Border
With the digital cinema market heating up in Latin America, Cinema Equipment and Supplies, headquartered in Miami, Florida, has a proven reputation as an industry leader.  The company sees 2009 as a watershed year when digital cinema will finally gain widespread acceptance “South of the Border” and anticipates the installation of Christie 3D projection systems in Brazil, Chile, Ecuador, Honduras, Panama, Peru and Ecuador.

“Christie Brilliant3D projectors are our first choice for installation because their cutting edge 1.2” full-chip resolution triple flash technology provides the highest brightness, an important benefit for 3D,” said Guillermo Younger, president of Cinema Equipment and Supplies. “Our clients are very responsive because they know we offer them projection systems that deliver the best picture possible for their screens.  We’re proud to be associated with Christie, a true industry leader whose customer service and support are ‘numero uno!’”

Christie Brilliant3D Spans the Oceans
An industry leader in high tech cinema products and services, American Cinema Equipment (ACE) has already installed projectors with Christie Brilliant3D in more than 15 theatre complexes throughout the US, including Hawaii and Guam.

Scott Hicks, president and CEO of ACE, always specifies Christie projectors for 3D presentations.  “We depend on Christie’s unmatched technical expertise and the consistent reliability of its products,” he said. “Their Brilliant 3D technology with full 2K resolution, along with their new lenses, noticeably improves light output on the screen, delivering a spectacular 3D movie experience.”

ACE’s technical director, Scott Kimber, summed it up: “There is a comfort zone working with Christie personnel.  Without a doubt, they are on top of their game.”

“Christie strives to provide the best products in the industry, but we are also fully committed to our customers, ensuring quality service and support,” said Craig Sholder, vice-president of Entertainment Solutions for Christie.  “Christie Brilliant3D is the latest enhancement for digital cinema that is helping theatres around the world increase revenues and lower cost of operations while providing moviegoers with a superior viewing experience.”
