Ernesto Armus Appointed General Manager of Christie Mexico

Industry veteran focused on building market share for world leader in advanced cinema technologies and visual displays

CYPRESS, Calif. – (September 18, 2013) – Christie®, a world leader in advanced cinema technologies and visual displays, today announced that Ernesto Armus has been appointed General Manager of Christie Mexico. Based in Mexico City, Mr. Armus will focus on increasing market share, developing financial strategies and overseeing contract negotiations for all of Christie’s industry-leading family of products in Mexico.

Armus joins Christie Mexico after four years with Dor Internacional, a Christie partner in Mexico for digital projection equipment and business products, where he managed sales, distribution and installation for more than 500 cinema screens throughout the country.

Prior to his tenure with Dor Internacional, Armus was Operations Manager for Cinemex, a nationally branded Cineplex chain. For 11 years he was responsible for supervising operations, support, and maintenance for projection equipment, sound and CCTV and security equipment for the chain.

“With my recent background working for a Christie business partner, I had first-hand knowledge of Christie’s unparalleled reputation in the visual display industry,” said Armus. “So I was very pleased to be joining such a dynamic team and am looking forward to the challenging opportunity to lead the continuing growth of the Christie brand to Mexico’s cinema, Pro AV and related visual solutions industry.”

Craig Sholder, vice president, Entertainment Solutions at Christie, said: “Ernesto has vast experience in all facets of Mexico’s cinema and visual display industry, having managed sales, operations, support and maintenance in his previous roles. This unique blend of industry experience and his familiarity with the Christie product family over many years, specifically in his most recent position with our valued partner, Dor Internacional, makes him ideally suited to accelerate the growth of Christie’s entertainment and other solutions in the Mexican market.”

Mr. Armus holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree in Architecture from the Universidad La Salle and was one-time Screening General Manager of FICCO-Cinemex, an international festival of contemporary cinema in Mexico.
