WATERLOO REGION, ON – (May 18, 2007) – Christie, a global leader in visual solutions for business, entertainment and industry, is pleased to announce the appointment of Bob Rushby to the position of Chief Technology Officer (CTO). The new position is part of Christie’s commitment to excellence and company-wide initiatives to strengthen the quality and value of its products and services. Rushby will continue to guide and influence the overall technology roadmap for Christie, working closely with the company’s business units to set the direction and customer value that Christie will offer in the years ahead.
Rushby has held senior executive roles since joining the company in 1999, most recently as Vice President of Research and Development. In his role as CTO, he will lead the R&D planning and exploration of new technologies, tools and methods for developing products, drawing on resources externally as well as Christie’s strong pool of in-house experts. Over the years, Rushby played a significant role leading the development of Christie’s industry breakthrough DLP Cinema® and 3-Chip DLP® product lines driving the company’s success globally. He has soundly influenced technology direction and focused significant investment in developing infrastructure to increase efficiency in product concept development. His extensive engineering expertise and R&D management background will continue to expand the company’s position as an industry leader and innovator. Rushby joined Christie from Delphax Technologies Inc. (formerly Delphax Systems), manufacturer of advanced digital print production systems, where he was Vice President of Engineering.

Rushby is based at the company’s world class manufacturing facility in Waterloo Region (Kitchener), Ontario, Canada. He holds a Bachelors of Applied Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Waterloo in Ontario, Canada and a Masters in Electrical Engineering from the University of Canterbury in New Zealand. He is also a licensed professional engineer with a P. Eng. designation from Professional Engineers of Ontario, and holds four patents.
