SINGAPORE – (May 25, 2004) – Christie, first in DLP Cinema™ projection, announces today it will be celebrating its 75th Anniversary with the screening of Twentieth Century Fox’s “The Day After Tomorrow” in Cathay Orchard Cineplex’s Hall 3 on May 27, 2004. This film presented in digital format will remain as a testimony to Christie and Cathay’s commitment to further introduce digital technology in the local cinema scene.
Started 75 years ago, Christie is first DLP Cinema™ licensee and it has played a leading role in the development of digital cinema projection. It presented Asia’s first 2K commercial screening in Thailand with SF Cinemacity and Singapore’s first commercial digital screening with Cathay Cineplexes as part of its industry-wide effort to help introduce digital cinema into Asia.
