CYPRESS, CA - (January 27, 2004) – Expanding its portfolio of network-enabled display technologies, Christie introduces the Christie FP40, its first direct view LCD display solution. The Christie FP40 is ideal for corporate boardrooms, smaller classrooms and meeting rooms, retail and entertainment venues, public spaces such as transit facilities, broadcasting and surveillance and other similar control room environments.
Featuring direct view 40” Active Matrix TFT, a wide 170° viewing angle, native WXGA (1280x768) resolution, 470 cd/m2 brightness with 600:1 contrast ratio, the FP40 displays bright, vibrant images viewable from anywhere. At 50lbs (23kg) and a super-thin depth of 3.5” (8.9cm), the FP40 can be mounted in either portrait or landscape orientations for optimum viewing impact.
A wide-range of computer and video connections (including DVI, HD15, BNC RGBHV and YCbCr, Composite, S-Video and DB9) and controls at the rear of the display allow for clean and secure installations. An optional wall mount or table top stand offers further installation flexibility. With picture in picture and a quick response time (less than 16ms), multiple sources can be displayed in real-time for truly dynamic presentations.
Using the latest direct view LCD technology, the FP40 eliminates image retention and burn-in challenges often seen in plasma displays. The fanless design offers silent, reliable operation in high-use applications. Low power consumption and long-life backlight offer low cost of ownership. With high life expectancy and high quality large display capability, the FP40 is an ideal choice for high traffic, high ambient light applications.
Using ChristieNET™, the world’s preferred networking solution, the FP40 is network-enabled and can be monitored and controlled from anywhere in the world.
The FP40 will ship early February 2004 and is backed by Christie’s 24-months parts and labor warranty.
