Christie DLP™ Projectors Set The Stage For Executive Briefings At NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory

Christie DS+60 Projectors Help NASA Executives View Detailed Presentations and Images of Agency Missions

CYPRESS, CA (September 20, 2005) – Christie, a major provider of visual solutions for business, entertainment and industry, today announced that NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) has installed two Christie DS+60 DLP projectors as part of a recent renovation of the Laboratory’s Executive Conference Room. The room features state-of-the-art technology and is the main setting for meetings and conferences by JPL’s top decision makers and staff.

The Executive Conference Room represents another successful installation at JPL for Christie.  Last year, JPL installed Christie projectors in the von Karman Auditorium in Pasadena, California, to display mission images in briefings with members of the international press.

In the Executive Conference Room, the Christie DS+60 projectors display images from various NASA space missions and in-house presentations on two 90-inch diagonal screens as part of the room’s high-tech, multimedia renovation.  The Christie DS+60 projectors offer the sharpest image possible to more accurately render the high-definition mission images the agency distributes over a fiber optic network throughout the lab. The projectors are networkable from a central server, to allow for easy maintenance and monitoring.

The Christie DS+60, one of the industry’s brightest and most versatile single-chip DLP projectors, delivers 6,000 ANSI lumens and features a range of lenses and input modules to meet a wide variety of installation challenges posed by such variables as ambient lighting, screen size and sources. True SXGA+ (1400x1050) resolution, a contrast ratio of up to 5000:1, 10-bit image processing and high quality optics, allow the Christie DS+60 projector to deliver dazzling images with saturated color and spectacular video. Fully networkable, it integrates easily and quickly into a wide variety of environments including boardrooms, large conference rooms, rental/staging, and small auditoriums.

“The Christie DS+60 offers high reliability and outstanding image clarity,” remarked Gary Fuller, Vice-President, Business Products at Christie. “It installs easily in almost any space without compromising on performance, making it the perfect presentation tool.  We are very pleased that Christie continues to play such an important role in helping JPL display the images and data from their historic missions."
