High Performance XGA Projection Cubes Help Graduate Students Learn About the World of Corporate Trading

Cypress, CA – May 5, 2004 - Christie Digital Systems, Inc., a major provider of visual solutions for business, entertainment and industry, today announced that Tulane University’s A. B. Freeman School of Business is using GraphXMASTER CX50-100U rear projection cubes in its state-of-the-art Trading Center to display financial data and corporate trading information.

The Trading Center is the technological centerpiece of the Freeman School of Business and serves the school’s acclaimed experiential learning programs, the Burkenroad Reports and the Darwin Fenner Student Managed Fund. The Center also acts as a hands-on laboratory for energy, risk management, equities and options instruction.

“The Christie projection cubes installed by Interstate Electronics, a Christie dealer, are a central piece of the Freeman School of Business Trading Center,” said Tom Gerace, director of information technology at Tulane University’s Freeman School of Business. “They allow graduate students to view live video and financial data feeds from around the U.S. in a setting that is similar to what you would find on Wall Street.”

The Freeman School of Business world-class trading room became fully operational in October of 2003 and was activated recently to serve as the back-drop for a weekly financial news segment which is micro-waved to a local television station.

“In the world of business education it’s important that an institution like Tulane University have the most innovative technology available to capture up-to-date financial data,” said Gary Werner, senior business manager of Christie’s Advanced Media Display Group. “We are very pleased that we could provide the university with a sophisticated videowall to display vital, detailed trading information.”

The Tulane University videowall is comprised of nine, 50” Christie GraphXMASTER CX50-100U single-chip DLP™ display wall cubes. Arranged in a 3x3 array, the cubes offer the most reliable, high performance, seamless wall solution for videowall applications. The 50" display cubes have been specifically designed to encapsulate the digital benefits offered by DLP™ technology.  The projection cubes in the Trading Center are controlled by a Christie NetMASTER™ FRC-5000 multi-media wall controller with VideoMAX™ Multi-Video Input module that provides the flexibility to display multiple video images or one large image across the entire videowall.
