CYPRESS, CA – (October 3, 2006) – Christie, a leading provider of visual solutions for business, entertainment and industry, introduces a comprehensive new line of next generation Control Room products to meet the demands of today’s mission critical display systems. Backed by 25 years of experience developing display solutions for 24/7 control room environments, Christie’s high quality, purpose-built products range from single-chip to three-chip DLP® solutions that set the standards for the industry. Designed and manufactured at Christie’s North American ISO9001:2000-certified factory, all digital projection products are built on Christie’s KoRE™ electronics platform which provide for extensive input capability and feature ChristieNET™ connectivity software for monitoring and control over IP.
Christie’s new TotalVIEW™ control room solutions include: 1) the latest single-chip XGA and SXGA+ DLP rear projection display engine technology; 2) custom configurable digital display wall controllers for extreme information display capability; 3) rear projection displays ranging in screen size from 50” to 100” diagonal; and 4) the latest in Christie’s line of rear screen 3-chip DLP tiling projectors setting the industry benchmark with native HD 1920x1080 resolution.
“Christie engineers have integrated the latest proven optical, mechanical, electrical and software technologies to provide superior, purpose-built control room products that our customers can rely on,” remarked Jim Gavloski, director of product management, Control Room and Videowall Solutions, Christie. “Our strong industry relationships and long history of meeting and exceeding our customer needs have been instrumental in the evolution of this powerful, highly flexible portfolio, and we are excited to bring it to market.”
Projection Display Modules
Christie’s new TotalVIEW single chip XGA and SXGA+ rear projection display modules offer a completely new high performance projection platform. Among the many features and benefits, the new Christie RPMX-D120U (XGA) and RPMSP-D120U (SXGA+) projection modules are designed with a dual UHP™ lamp switcher system which provides both redundancy and long lamp life – two features essential for many mission critical control room applications.
Unlike other rear projection systems, the new projection modules include automatic color calibration and brightness control capability, built in edge-blending, and factory-calibrated Comprehensive Color Adjustment (CCA™) for fast and easy color set-up across tiled display walls.
The RPMSP-D120U boasts an ultra-high contrast ratio of up to 2300:1 and brightness up to 1000 ANSI lumens. The RPMX-D120U offers up to 1300:1 contrast ratio and up to 870 ANSI lumens brightness. Both projection engines include very high quality optics, supporting screen display platforms ranging from 50” to 100” diagonal.
Display Wall Controllers
Christie’s new TotalVIEW TVC series display wall controllers are designed to meet the needs of the most demanding display wall systems. The new TVC-1100 and TVC-1200 models are configured in Christie’s North American factory to meet customer specific performance, input and output requirements. The TVC-1200 boasts an advanced video processing architecture, providing superior video quality with ability to display up to 16 simultaneous videos per display channel. At the core is Christie’s MASTERSuite 4.1 software, the industry’s only display wall management software available in eight languages.
DLP HD-Resolution Projector
The new Christie TotalVIEW DLV1920-DX rear screen projector with native HD 1920x1080 resolution and 3-chip DLP technology provides a 41% increase in resolution over SXGA+ for tiling extremely detailed display scenarios. Featuring 2800 ANSI lumens and up to 2000:1 contrast ratio, the DLV1920-DX is naturally suited for wide display wall applications such as broadcast control and military command centers. With its unique native wide HD format, it offers the possibility of reducing the number of projectors needed, thus improving overall system reliability and reducing cost to operate.
Christie's next generation line of control room products are scheduled to begin shipping in November 2006.
