Christie Lights Up The Rental Staging Market With New LCD Projectors

NSCA/Denver, CO – (March 13, 2003) - Christie today announced two powerful additions to its RoadRunner line of LCD projectors with the introduction of RoadRunner LX100 and RoadRunner LX65. The higher brightness and feature sets of the LX100 and LX65 make them excellent solutions for rental staging, large fixed installations and conference rooms.

“LCD and optical technology have improved dramatically providing higher quality images that are crisper and more vibrant,” said Neil Wittering, senior product manager, Advanced Display Solutions. “Our RoadRunner line has really taken off over the last six months and we’re very excited that the LX100 and LX65 give rental stagers even more power and options to meet their needs.”

The RoadRunner LX100 is Christie’s brightest LCD projector with a brilliant 10,000 ANSI lumens and featuring vertical and horizontal lens shift to ensure excellent images on screen. Christie’s LX65 projector also provides outstanding images with 6,500 ANSI lumens and vertical lens shift. New optical technology also enables the projectors to achieve a contrast ratio of 1100:1 – the highest level in LCD and DLP™ projection.

Lower total cost of ownership and ease of use in addition to high quality images are important to every rental stager and the LX100 and LX65 are designed to meet these needs. Both projectors can be plugged into a 110-volt outlet and utilize a range of eight lenses ranging from 0.8:1 to 7:1 that can also be shared with any Christie RoadRunner L6, RoadRunner L8, Vivid White or Vivid Blue projector. The LX100 and LX65 also have a new bayonet-style Fast Lens Change (FLC™) mount with a more robust design to withstand the rigors of being on the road. Lenses can be simply snapped in place for quick changes without the need for tools.

ChristieNET™ is also available providing rental stagers the ability to monitor the status of projectors and control any projection function over a network. By running a low cost network cable from the projectors into a PC, using ChristieNET, it is possible to turn lamps on or off and pinpoint any problems that could affect the quality of the images. This reduces the need to climb up to where the projectors are mounted and shortens service time by knowing exactly what requires fixing without having to physically examine a projector.

The LX100 and LX65 also come with Christie’s new Real Color Manager software, which allows you to target and match the displayed color to specific gamma curves and boost colors to maximize image quality.
