Setting the bar high by using digital media to enhance experience

The event took place at Kitchener’s Centre in the Square, one of North America’s largest performance arts centres, with more than 4,500 square feet of stage available. With a stage this size, organizers conceptualized how to create an informal, intimate setting while using a sufficient number of props and technology. The outcome? By positioning household furniture including a bookshelf, but not just any ordinary bookshelf, organizers achieved a cozy ambience.

Christie provided 24 Christie® MicroTiles™ to create an irregularly-shaped bookshelf, custom-designed to support paraphernalia brought in by the speakers, an 8 x 1 array to display speakers’ names, and a 1 x 5 vertical column to display real-time Twitter messages in the Exploration Area of the Centre’s lobby during the event.

“My heart was set on using Christie MicroTiles. They have no borders, no boundaries. You can assemble them in any configuration and they work like a charm. They are beautiful.”
