Christie brings 3D digital cinema to the “End of the World”
Argentina’s Tierra del Fuego (Land of Fire), is a major tourist attraction in South America, where it offers spectacular views of snow-capped mountains, pristine rivers and lakes and large, natural forests. It is the southernmost city in the world.
The Packewaia Cinema, built more than a decade ago inside a former naval station, is located in Ushuaia, capital of the Argentine province of Tierra del Fuego. The cinema is among the latest theaters in Argentina to embrace 3D. It is operated by Gama Producciones, whose partners, Fabian Fiocchi and Pablo Drajner, oversee diverse media, promotional and event production ventures, including the management of a local TV station. They selected Christie, the brand that dominates the Argentinean digital cinema market.
“The Christie 3D digital cinema system has proven to be very popular. We are attracting enormous audiences, providing us with an excellent return on investment.”
