A futuristic design for the “TRON: Legacy” premiere
The 3D Disney blockbuster “TRON: Legacy” premiered in Moscow at one of Russia’s busiest multiplex theaters — the KARO FILM Oktyabr cinema theater — in December 2010. Just before the premiere, two Christie CP2230 projectors with 3D-content show system XpanD 3D were installed in the cinema center’s first hall.
For the premiere, the movie’s futuristic, science fiction storyline was echoed with dramatic Christie® MicroTiles® installations in the cinema theater’s lobby. It was the first time Christie MicroTiles were used to promote a film in Russia.
Smart Look advertising agency managed the Oktyabr lobby design. Big Screen Service supplied the Christie MicroTiles, and ETC Russia created the displays‘ content.
Two areas of the cinema theater featured Christie MicroTiles modular digital displays. The main video wall installed on the first floor of the lobby was designed to create a sense of anticipation and buzz. This video wall was made up of 41 tiles and displayed scenes from the film accompanied by the original Daft Punk soundtrack.
