Christie Matrix StIM™ and Christie Matrix StIM WQ

Christie Matrix StIM™ and Christie Matrix StIM WQ are highly scalable integrated environment projection systems developed by Christie with the objective of meeting these most demanding combinations of simulation requirements and objectives.

The original Christie Matrix StIM was developed by leveraging “disruptive” technologies in the commercial market space, such as LED illumination, combined with Christie unique technologies and systems architecture, to enable previously unattainable levels of performance and capabilities. The Christie Matrix StIM and Christie Matrix StIM WQ are “revolutionary” developments in visual simulation.

LED-based illumination with InfraRGB™ (RGB + IR)

Christie Matrix StIM™ and Christie Matrix StIM WQ simulation projectors are revolutionary LED-based illumination with InfraRGB™ (RGB + IR). The Christie Matrix StIM and Christie Matrix StIM WQ address all the key requirements of the simulation industry in one compact, customer-driven design. Offering the ultimate in simulation visualization –scalability and an IR LED to actually stimulate NVGs, the Christie Matrix StIM and Christie Matrix StIM WQ can self-adjust in real-time for a seamless display that responds to scene content for accurate depiction of day, night and independent stimulated NVG images.

Christie ArrayLOC™

Through synchronized, continuous balancing and calibration, array display maintenance is achieved.  Christie ArrayLOC™ reduces the amount of time, money and labor spent on maintaining an arrayed display.

We employ a network architecture that enables individual projectors to effectively become ‘intelligent display nodes’ in a larger system infrastructure.  Christie ArrayLOC takes advantage of system alignment data and image content information that is measured and utilized on a real-time basis.  A Christie-engineered "smart" automatic brightness and color management system, each Projector Head Module (PHM) contains a sensor to monitor both color and brightness.  Christie ArrayLOC is built on:

  • Christie BrightLOC
    Each projector uses BrightLOC technology to further adjust the LED power to match its brightness to the lesser of the target brightness or the dimmest projector in the array.

  • Christie ColorLOC
    At regular intervals, each PHM sends information about its color capability to all other projectors in the array and compares that color capability of each projection system against the common color gamut.

Christie Matrix Series

Designed and engineered for complex blended arrays where color matching and uniformity are critical, the Christie Matrix Series offers SXGA+, full 1920 x 1080 HD and WUXGA resolution.  The series delivers the highest performance utilizing DLP® technology – the best solution for simulation environments where clarity of fast moving content is critical.

The small compact series’ design includes built-in geometric warping and edge-blending capabilities, and unique proprietary purpose-built features that create scalable, high resolution displays.  A broad range of specifically-designed high contrast lenses for increased contrast, optional input modules, mounting systems and customized structures, networking capability and other peripherals provide the flexibility you need for your unique application.

  • Christie AccuFrame™
    The unique advanced electronics in the Christie Matrix Series projectors come standard with Christie AccuFrame™ to accurately display high speed simulation content for the most true-to-life displays.

  • Brightness and color uniformity matching across multiple screens
    In order to achieve a completely life-like, realistic reproduction of the source, brightness and color uniformity matching across multiple screens is integral.  Every projector and every screen in the display must be equal in brightness and color. 

  • High contrast, low black levels
    A high contrast ratio and low black level is necessary for accurate night mode simulation scenes.

  • SuperCR™ Contrast Ratio
    With the internal variable internal contrast aperture, contrast ratios range from 1500-5000:1 for vivid, dynamic image reproduction and low black levels for accurate night-scenery mode.

  • Digital Black Level Adjustment (DBLA™)
    Lets the user match blended (gutter) black levels with non-blended black levels.  Image warping is controlled through user-defined warp grid with less than one frame latency.

  • Primary Color Adjustment™ (PCA™)
    Primary Color Adjustment™ provides individual RGB color matching for multi-channel applications to eliminate color variations across multiple screens for uniform, color-matched projector arrays.

  • Lamp Power Management (LPM™)
    Provides users with the ability to adjust power to the lamps for a consistent and uniform brightness, to monitor and manage the lamp operation in the display.  Brightness adjustments can be made from center to edge across the image for up to 100% uniformity.
