Pushing the boundaries

How we bring the smallest details to life on the big screen

Did you know that most movie theatres still project in 2K resolution? At 2K resolution, you’re missing details in every frame. The big blockbuster films are shot in 4K resolution – four times as crisp and clear as 2K resolution, allowing you to see all the small details often missed on lower resolution projection. When the details make the difference, rely on Christie 4K cinema projection.

RealLaser launches audiences into a new world of color and contrast

RealLaser brings new, never-seen-before colors and contrasts to the big screen. We developed laser illumination to expand beyond the traditional cinema lamp, which limited colors to the natural spectrum of sunlight. With RealLaser, that spectrum extends to billions of colors – up to three times the contrast between the lightest and darkest parts of the screen. And did we mention it has lasers?

The future of cinema is bright, bold, and brilliant

James Cameron’s Avatar: The Way of Water and Ang Lee’s Gemini Man are the latest blockbusters to show in High Frame Rate (HDR). Movies often use 24 frames per second to create the effect of continuous movement, but with Christie’s HDR-capable RealLaser 4K projectors, directors can substantially increase the frame rate to reduce motion blur and accentuate each vital movie moment.
