Christie shines at Expocine Brazil 2018

September 27, 2018

Expocine/São Paulo, Brazil- Christie®, a leader in creating and delivering the world's best visual and audio experiences, continues to show its commitment to RGB pure laser illumination as the best technology for cinema projection at Expocine (Centro de Convenções Frei Caneca, São Paulo, Brazil, October 2-5), with the only live demonstration of an RGB pure laser cinema projector at the entire show.

Christie's booth at Expocine (Suite 5) will be fitted with a 24-seat theater featuring the latest trailer content projected in stunning, colorful detail with the 2K version of Christie's family of RealLaser cinema projectors, the CP2315-RGB pure laser projector, accompanied by the innovative Christie Vive Audio™ solution that offers rich, dynamic and detailed sound to complete the cinematic experience.

"We're proud to showcase our RealLaser family of cinema projectors at Expocine, the largest event within the film industry in Latin America," said Dale Miller, Executive Vice President, Cinema, Christie. "Christie is strongly committed to developing technologies that add real value for our customers. RGB pure laser is the natural progression to achieve improved brightness, color, and contrast to meet demands of studios and exhibitors. With Christie RealLaser, we have made available the world's first laser illumination technology that qualifies as a true replacement for lamp-based projection illumination."

Ricardo Laporta, Cinema Sales for Christie in Brazil, added: "There has been very strong interest in our RealLaser cinema projectors among exhibitors across South America, as they become convinced that this technology, which is finally affordable for mainstream cinema exhibition, is the future of cinema projection. Our commitment has always been to serve the economics of cinema while continuing to improve performance."

The installation and integration of all the audio and video components of the theatre will be carried out by CineCompany, a Christie partner in Brazil, while the seats will be provided by Santa Clara Poltronas, a Brazilian manufacturer of theatre seats and distributor of cinema equipment.

Boasting an innovative, patented, and all-in-one, direct-coupled RGB illumination system, that eliminates the need for sub-ambient external cooling, Christie's RGB projection solutions are the most advanced laser projectors on the market, using next generation, pure red-green-blue direct-emitting laser technology to deliver an unequalled, authentic and immersive cinema experience in a cost-effective offering.

Christie RealLaser offers directors and producers a much increased colour palette, approaching Rec. 2020 and over 30,000 hours of theatre operation without lamp changes. It is the only laser technology to offer brightness levels above DCI standards throughout its natural life.

Alongside the visuals emanating from the CP2315-RGB projector, the Christie's theatre at Expocine will be kitted out with the impeccable live sound of Christie's Vive Audio LA1 screen channel loudspeakers, S115 and S118LP subwoofers and LA3S surround speakers. The theatre will be fitted with a 6 x 2.5 meters Severtson screen.

At the end of each presentation, Christie will invite guests to play a Trivia game with questions about cinema. Attendees will be able to play this game on their smartphones by connecting to a local WAN. The winner at each session will receive a pair of tickets for Comic Con Experience Brazil, one of the largest comic conventions of the world.

The Christie booth will also feature a videowall with Christie FHD552-XB LCD panels in a 2x2 configuration. Made in Brazil, these panels are rounded out with local service and support for complete peace of mind and deliver a superior tiled experience and performance at an affordable price.
