India’s Ministry of Health chooses Christie

Some 50 Christie GS Series 1DLP® laser projectors to be deployed at medical colleges across the country to boost telemedicine capabilities
BANGALORE – Christie®, a leader in creating and delivering the world's best visual and audio experiences, is pleased to announce that India's Ministry of Health & Family Welfare has acquired 49 units of the versatile Christie DWU700-GS 1DLP® laser projectors for its National Medical College Network (NMCN).
These state-of-the-art laser-illuminated projection systems will be deployed at government medical colleges across the country as part of the health ministry's initiative to interlink its healthcare institutions and create a national task force on telemedicine to address the scarcity of medical professionals in rural India. With this acquisition, medical colleges under the NMCN will be among the first government organizations in India to be equipped with lampless projection systems that promise long life, minimal maintenance and a low cost of operation.
A spokesperson for the NMCN said, "Our decision to acquire the Christie GS Series laser projectors is in line with the objective of interlinking medical colleges across India with the purpose of e-Education and National Rural Telemedicine Network for e-Healthcare delivery. We are familiar with the Christie brand and have chosen this model due to its performance, long-life illumination, small footprint and lower cost of operation. We're confident that these laser projectors will serve us well in the years ahead, and help us avoid operational down-time and achieve cost savings in areas such as lamp replacements and maintenance."
