Some 50 Christie GS Series 1DLP® laser projectors to be deployed at medical colleges across the country to boost telemedicine capabilities
BANGALORE – (September 18, 2018) – Christie®, a leader in creating and delivering the world's best visual and audio experiences, is pleased to announce that India's Ministry of Health & Family Welfare has acquired 49 units of the versatile Christie DWU700-GS 1DLP® laser projectors for its National Medical College Network (NMCN).
These state-of-the-art laser-illuminated projection systems will be deployed at government medical colleges across the country as part of the health ministry's initiative to interlink its healthcare institutions and create a national task force on telemedicine to address the scarcity of medical professionals in rural India. With this acquisition, medical colleges under the NMCN will be among the first government organizations in India to be equipped with lampless projection systems that promise long life, minimal maintenance and a low cost of operation.
A spokesperson for the NMCN said, "Our decision to acquire the Christie GS Series laser projectors is in line with the objective of interlinking medical colleges across India with the purpose of e-Education and National Rural Telemedicine Network for e-Healthcare delivery. We are familiar with the Christie brand and have chosen this model due to its performance, long-life illumination, small footprint and lower cost of operation. We're confident that these laser projectors will serve us well in the years ahead, and help us avoid operational down-time and achieve cost savings in areas such as lamp replacements and maintenance."
Michael Bosworth, Executive Director for APAC, Enterprise, Christie, commented, "We are delighted that the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare has chosen our GS Series for deployment at its medical colleges across India in an effort to better provide healthcare services through telemedicine. It is gratifying to see that our visual solutions can play an important and meaningful role in the remote diagnosis and treatment of patients in areas where there's a shortage of medical professionals."
The adoption of laser projection has increased in recent years, with several organizations in India selecting Christie's solid state illumination for fixed installations across the country. These include sanitary ware manufacturer Jaquar's experience center in New Delhi, which chose the Christie GS Series 1DLP® laser projectors for a projection showcase; as well as SAP Labs in Bangalore where the Christie HS Series 1DLP® laser projectors are fitted in its auditorium and cafeteria to deliver bright and high-quality images.
The professional-grade Christie GS Series models deliver premium performance and reliability in high-usage environments. Featuring laser illum ination, these adaptable projectors eliminate the need for lamp and filter replacements, providing 20,000 hours of low-cost operation. Wireless connectivity, a small footprint, low-weight, quiet operation and a full suite of lenses makes the GS Series ideal for boardrooms, conference rooms, education, houses of worship and other small and medium venues. All Christie GS Series models are available in full HD and WUXGA resolutions and deliver brilliant color, premium image quality and high-brightness.
