Christie powers 20th Century Fox screening theatre

CYPRESS, Calif. – Christie® has been chosen to provide the projection and audio technology for the new screening theatre designed by Christie business partner, DOR Internacional S.A. de CV and built for 20th Century Fox in Mexico. The new Sala Fox theatre in Mexico City seats up to 35 people, and offers a comfortable and leading-edge environment to accommodate the film company's executives, creative staff and selected clients as they evaluate upcoming releases targeted for the Mexican market.

The Christie footprint for the new theatre includes a Solaria Series CP2208 projector, an Integrated Media Box (IMB) and Christie Vive Audio loudspeakers. The projector is one a range of Christie's DCI-compliant, DLP® cinema projectors that meet exhibition and post production studios' demands for 2D and 3D presentations, showing feature film and alternative content the way filmmakers intended. Available with Christie High Frame Rate (HFR) technology, Christie digital cinema projectors offer choice in frame rate, brightness and resolution, and deliver value with reliability and low total cost of ownership.
Rounding out the Christie contribution to the newly-opened screening theatre are Christie Vive Audio™ loudspeakers featuring Christie ribbon driver technology. Engineered specifically for digital cinema, the loudspeakers offer advanced design concepts to provide dynamic and detailed cinema audio, including fast transient response, high dynamic range, directivity control, low distortion and extended high-frequency response. The theatre is equipped with LA Series line arrays and S Series subwoofers for the screen channels.
"Sala Fox began as a conversation we had with Fox Mexico," recalled Jacques Dornbierer, DOR Internacional's founding director, who launched the company which is now headquartered in the Zapopan district of Guadalajara, in 1993. "They told us they were changing offices and wanted to have their own private screening room in the new building. They were keenly aware that the space assigned for it was really tricky and they would have to look for another building if we were unable to come up with the viable plan, but happily we found a solution. We selected Christie projection and Vive Audio because they deliver superior quality in the smallest form factors in their class."
"DOR Internacional was responsible for the entire Sala Fox project, and that meant everything from initial blueprints, the engineering, the building work, interior design, coordinating the various contractors, right up to the final installation and implementation of all the Christie projection and audio technology," said Dornbierer.
