When Christie®​ was tasked to implement and manage an Environmental Management System (EMS) program over 10 years ago, most employees did not understand the full impact it would have both on the company and themselves.

Since its inception, the greatest achievement the program has had is the increased environmental awareness of the employees throughout the organization. There is a corporate general awareness of how employees’ jobs effect the environment.


A green commute

Christie​ employees are advocates for the environment too. One of the areas that employees focus their efforts on is their daily commute.









Community gardens

Both Christie USA and Christie Canada have community gardens for all employees who are interested in growing their own food as well as getting a little exercise.









Doing IT better

Christie encourages its employees to consider the environment when it comes to business travel and to consider meeting through the use of technology.









Foam recycling program

Passionate Christie employees observed that LDPE foam received as packaging was not recyclable using conventional means.










While Christie adheres to the philosophy of the EMS Policy its employees continue to challenge and continually improve on its principles of promoting environmental sustainability.​

Employees now recycle, turn off lights, have chosen more environmentally friendly ways to commute to work, volunteer in community events – and have incorporated this awareness not only in the workplace, but in their own lives.
