CYPRESS, Calif. — CJ 4DPLEX, the world's leading producer of premium cinema formats and immersive theatre technologies, and Christie® today announced an extension of their partnership to equip SCREENX auditoriums across the U.S. with Christie RGB pure laser projection technology.
As part of the renewed agreement, CJ 4DPLEX will utilize Christie’s M 4K25 RGB pure laser projectors and Christie Mystique™, an automated camera-based alignment and calibration solution, to power its proprietary multi-projection SCREENX auditoriums. This collaboration will further enhance the scale, brightness, and precision of the SCREENX experience for moviegoers nationwide.
This announcement builds on a longstanding relationship between the two companies and reflects a shared commitment to advancing premium cinematic experiences. By expanding the use of Christie’s projection and alignment technologies, CJ 4DPLEX will accelerate the growth of its 270-degree immersive SCREENX format across the U.S., meeting increasing consumer demand for differentiated, premium moviegoing experiences.
SCREENX is the world’s first multi-projection theatre technology, delivering a panoramic cinematic experience that extends beyond the traditional screen. Using a proprietary system, SCREENX projects select scenes onto the side walls of the auditorium, surrounding audiences and creating the sensation of being inside the film.
“The expansion of SCREENX locations powered by Christie’s integrated technology marks an important milestone as we continue to grow our global footprint with exceptional visual performance and presentation quality,” said Don Savant, CEO and President, Americas, CJ 4DPLEX. “By delivering a premium, differentiated cinematic experience, we are introducing SCREENX to new audiences in a powerful way and will continue to expand through strong partnerships with exhibitors worldwide.”
Christie’s M 4K25 RGB pure laser projectors, featuring electronic color convergence, an intelligent lens system, and Mystique alignment and calibration software, are uniquely suited to the technical demands of SCREENX auditoriums, enabling seamless, high-brightness multi-projection across expansive theater environments in a compact, efficient form factor.
“We are proud to continue our collaboration with CJ 4DPLEX and appreciate their ongoing trust in Christie’s technology and teams,” said Sean James, executive vice president, Global Sales and Service, Christie. “Together, we are helping deliver next-generation cinematic experiences that bring audiences closer to the story through immersive, panoramic presentation.”
