The next phase of cinema projection

Get the inside scoop on our new 4K Phazer cinema projectors

In this piece:

Performance, check. Efficiency, check. Operational flexibility, check.

Meet the newest additions to our range of projectors for cinemas and post-production facilities: the CP4415m-RGBH, CP4420m-RGBH, and the newly launched CP4410m-RGBH. In this blog post, we’ll cover why we introduced these projectors, what makes them unique, and the advanced capabilities that you can expect from them.

Putting the right light on your screen

Our new cinema projectors give exhibitors and post-production facilities even more choice to put the right light on their screens.

These projectors offer three key benefits:

  • Eliminates laser speckle in high-gain silver screens
  • Reduces operating costs for exhibitor
  • Reduces metameric issues in post-production workflows

How? With our new RGBH hybrid illumination technology paired with a 0.98” 4K SST DMD.

What is RGBH?

RGBH stands for “red, green, blue, hybrid” illumination, an advanced blend of pure RGB narrow-band lasers and a phosphor-pumped wide-band light source. Unlike traditional laser phosphor systems, which rely on a blue laser pumping a phosphor wheel, RGBH illumination offers a wider color gamut and improved spectral balance.

RGBH provides flexible illumination for any screen type, including high-gain silver screens. It virtually eliminates speckle, which is a spotted pattern caused by light waves interfering with each other on high-gain screens, while exceeding the DCI-P3 color gamut.

Since RGBH uses a mix of narrow-band and wide-band light sources, the result is broadband illumination, similar to Xenon, which helps overcome metameric failure. This is especially important in post-production workflows where color consistency across different display types is essential.

Small but mighty

We’ve paired RGBH hybrid illumination with a 0.98' 4K SST DMD from Texas Instruments to create projectors that deliver vibrant on-screen performance in a small, quiet, and flexible form factor.

These models are our first small form factor 4K cinema projectors, weighing 132 lbs (60kg) installed, can be rigged inverted or with the lens up, and operate as quietly as 43 dBA – equivalent to the hum of a residential refrigerator or a quiet library. This combination is ideal for boothless or low-profile installations and small spaces.

Reducing exhibitor costs

In addition, the new 0.98' DMD optimizes optical performance for a lower total cost of ownership. What does this mean? The projectors are up to 40% more efficient on a lumens-per-watt basis and reduce power costs by up to 40% compared to leading competitive models.

Model RGBH lumens-per-watt Competitor lumens-per-watt* Est. power cost savings*
CP4410m-RGBH 11.7 10 17% lower
CP4415m-RGBH 14.2 11 29% lower
CP4420m-RGBH 14.8 10.5 40% lower

*Based on leading-competitive model

The projectors are compatible with Christie 0.98″ m2K cinema lenses and CineLife+ accessories, including the TPC for easy integration.

Advanced cinema electronics

Our 4K Phazer RGBH projectors are built on our CineLife+ electronics platform, which includes a robust set of features:

  • HFRConnect for 4K at 12 Hz playback, which is 10 times greater than the DCI standard 250 Mbps
  • Electronic Color Convergence (ECC) for sub-pixel color alignment
  • ScreenFit™ provides automated geometry correction
  • Mystique™ integration for advanced alignment
  • Remote UI for remote monitoring and contro
  • Full compatibility with Christie CineLife+ IMB-S4
  • Rental mode, which supports lease and rental business models

The next Phaze for small to mid-sized screens

Our 4K Phazer RGBH projectors are perfect for small to mid-sized screens. They offer between 10,000 and 20,000 lumens of brightness with a light source that provides 50,000 hours of operation for screens between 42-feet (13 meters) and 63-feet (19 meters) wide, giving you even more choice to put the right light on your screen.
