5 projectors to make your live events dazzle

In this piece:

“There are a few fundamentals in live events: they require flexible, reliable AV solutions that can withstand day-to-day rigors, and they must be up to the challenge of never letting a show go dark,” says Joseph Conover, director of live events, immersive entertainment. And that is especially true for ProAV projectors, as it remains the primary display technology for many events.

In this blog, we’ll look at our top five projectors that live event professionals rely on to ensure audiences of all sizes are captivated by dazzling visuals.

1. Sapphire 4K40-RGBH

Live events require flexible, reliable display solutions, and our newest 3DLP projector is engineered for rock-solid reliability and extreme versatility.

The 40,950-lumen, native 4K Sapphire® 4K40-RGBH has a unique dual illumination source – RGB pure laser and laser phosphor, so it can produce a broader spectrum of light. The result? Freedom to go beyond Rec. 709 with beautifully vibrant P3 color. Sapphire offers front- or rear-projection flexibility, and all-screen compatibility. When it comes to 3DLP projection, this gem delivers performance no other laser phosphor projector can match.

Our Sapphire 4K40-RGBH offers performance and color no other laser phosphor projector can match.

Sapphire is built to help rental and staging companies maximize return on investment. The projector’s high-performance capabilities and exceptional flexibility make it easy to deploy across virtually any live event and venue, increasing utilization and speeding up payback.

From a system design standpoint, Sapphire is equipped with TruLife+ electronics with all the connectivity event professionals need built in, including Quad 12G-SDI inputs with full-size BNCs, four DisplayPort connections, and three HDMI connections to simplify setup and minimize time on site. It’s also compatible with Christie’s 3DLP 4K ILS4 lenses and Griffyn® Series rigging handles, resulting in cost savings for companies that already have them in their fleet.

For large-scale events, Sapphire has the versatility, brightness, and image quality to stand out on screen and earn confidence behind the scenes.

2. Griffyn 4K50-RGB

Our award-winning Griffyn 4K50-RGB isn’t just our brightest projector, outputting a whopping 50,000 lumens of brightness; it also delivers premium color performance, native 4K resolution, striking contrast, and stunning realism that command attention and elevate the audience experience.

Griffyn produces an exceptionally wide color gamut, achieving ~98% of the Rec. 2020 color space—more than twice the color of Rec. 709—for uncompromising image fidelity that stays true to creative intent, accurately reproduces corporate branding, and brings IP-driven content and characters to life with confidence.

Designed for frequent load-ins, touring, and a long operational life, Griffyn’s stable RGB pure laser light source minimizes maintenance, maximizes uptime, and supports higher utilization rates. Integrated Christie LiteLOC™ (also available on Sapphire 4K40-RGBH and M 4K RGB Series) maintains color balance and brightness over time, even in higher ambient temperatures, ensuring day-one show quality every day. Griffyn’s best-in-class energy efficiency minimizes power consumption and lowers operating costs, helping rental and staging companies accelerate payback and extend profitability over the projector’s lifecycle.

Christie partner ON used Griffyn 4K50-RGB pure laser projectors to projection map the façade of Brazil’s Museum of Arts and Trades.

Whether it’s a concert, a projection mapping spectacle, or an immersive experience, the Griffyn 4K50-RGB pure laser projector is trusted worldwide to perform brilliantly and wow audiences every time.

3. M 4K25 RGB and M 4K+25 RGB

The M 4K25 RGB (4K UHD) and M 4K+25 RGB (4K UHD+) deliver 25,300 lumens of brightness in a compact, lightweight form factor of just 41.7 kg (92 lbs), making them easy to handle and cost-effective to ship. With RGB pure laser illumination, they produce highly saturated color and outstanding contrast. And they offer long-term reliability and stability, resulting in consistent performance, reduced downtime, and a stronger return on investment.

The premium image quality of these projectors extends beyond color reproduction. All 4K UHD/4K UHD+ resolution projectors on the market today use pixel-shifting to enhance image quality and resolution by simulating a higher resolution than the projector’s actual native resolution. A 4K UHD image is simulated from a 1080p (HD) native resolution and 4K UHD+ from WUXGA native resolution. Our M 4K RGB Series models use our proprietary Precision Pixel-Shifting technology, which operates at significantly higher frame rates than conventional pixel-shifting methods. The result? Superior, detailed, artifact-free performance that simply looks better onscreen. It’s pixel-shifting perfected.

Just like Sapphire and Griffyn, M 4K RGB Series projectors are powered by our TruLife+™ electronics, providing ‘all-in’ video processing, with all the connections you need built in. They also feature electronic color convergence. Whether the projector is ceiling- or truss-mounted, you can digitally adjust the red, green, or blue individually with the remote control for picture-perfect color alignment — so you never have to climb a ladder to adjust your color convergence again.

The ruggedness, reliability, and robust feature-set of the M 4K RGB Series have earned these projectors a reputation as true industry workhorses, with thousands deployed around the globe.

4. Jazz Series

In live events, projection has to do more than look exceptional—it must travel light, adapt easily, and deliver compelling return show after show. That’s exactly where our Jazz Series projectors stand out. Designed for the realities of live production and with one of the best-size-to-brightness ratios in 1DLP projection, Jazz Series pairs outstanding image performance with proven reliability, versatility, and value—making it a sound choice for fast-paced, high-utilization environments.

Powered by the latest 0.8” High Efficiency Pixel (HEP) DMD, Jazz Series delivers up to 23,750 lumens of brilliant color, breathtaking contrast, and striking 4K UHD+ or WUXGA clarity from a compact and lightweight, value-packed design. Its omnidirectional capability and smaller footprint speed up rigging and deployment at any angle, reduce transport costs, and provide unrestricted creative freedom and real-world flexibility in tight and unconventional spaces.

Built to move, handle, and install as fast as productions need, Korus Series projectors offer all the capabilities of Jazz Series, with brightness up to 14,250 lumens, in a smaller, lighter 17.25 kg (38 lbs) form factor—setting a new benchmark for portability in its class.
